Burial or Burning (Cremation)

“Cremation, the burning to ashes of the bodies of the dead, was widely used by the ancient Greeks and Romans. But until this century it was not accepted by Christians, who believed it ran contrary to resurrection of the body” (Sandra Evans, The Washington Post, April 29, 1997).
