The Gift of Love

The definition of love: Love is an affectionate commitment to what is best for another. It is not an emotion, but can be emotionally expressed.
There is a uniqueness to Christian love. Christians have the potential to love in such a way that non-Christians will never have.

1. We are to love God. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength." You can summarize this command this way: Love God undividedly.
2. What does Jesus mean when he says, love others? Love your neighbor as yourself. The simplest answer is to read 1John 3:16-18. If you are not loving others selflessly, you might not be loving them at all!
   It is not enough to admire the truth from a distance. You either love Christ, or you don't love God.
