Jesus Spoke His Words of Deepest Anguish

While on the cross, Christ prayed ‘My God, my God, why have thou forsaken Me.’ Christ was never separated from God the Father, but He was separated from His help. While on the cross, Christ was left to suffer spiritually and physically, He was in the state of sin bearing and he was in the state of satisfaction. Christ earned and established righteousness at the cross and it is this righteousness that God imputed to His Elect. Christ accomplished His work at the cross, and it will remain finished.
