[12/11/2022 AM] - "Why is John the Baptist Important?" - Luke 1:5-25

121 ( 9 | 112 )

Each day the Lord grants us grace for that day. We know that we can look to Him for that grace and strength and He will provide. I pray that you have found in Him all you have needed each day of this week so far. And we know that the Lord's day is ahead.

This Lord's day is also the celebration of the Lord's supper so we will gather at 9:30, then have our shared lunch and the afternoon worship immediately afterwards at 1:00 p.m.

The morning worship will have us at Luke 1.5-25 as we begin with the question "why is John the Baptist Important?" This is such a wonderful and helpful text to prepare our hearts for the reminder of the Lord's birth in two weeks. Ponder these questions: Why do the genealogies of Zechariah and Elizabeth matter and what should we think about them being blameless? How do these facts impact the question Zechariah asked Gabriel? In which ways will John be used in preparing the way of the Lord? How does this text direct and instruct the church today? We have much to be blessed with in the morning sermon.
