Jesus Revealed

The last two weeks we saw the apostle John establish that Jesus is "the Word" - our God, our Creator and our Redeemer (1:1-5), and helped his readers to recognize that Jesus, as "the Word of God" (the life and the light), gives us the basis and benefits of receiving Him (1:6-13). Now, John reveals that "the Word" took on a human body through the virgin birth, and humbly dwelt among us as a common man. Although He is eternal, extravagant in grace and exalted over all (including Moses), He took on human flesh in order to declare the Father, making God known to mankind (1:14-18).
