Jesus is the King

104 ( 53 | 51 )

In today's passage, Jesus has been brought by the religious leaders of the Jews to the secular leaders of the Romans. The people are not indifferent, they are shouting out and crying out for blood. Barabbas, a true enemy of Rome was offered for death to fulfill the Jews' appetite for someone dying. But the Jews did not want just anyone to die, they wanted Jesus to die. If we pursue something other than the will of God, we will never be satisfied. True satisfaction, real peace, real joy, only comes from God. Jesus is the one who satisfies. Jesus is the King and His Kingdom is not of this world. Christianity is not a means for us to accomplish our goals. The goal is not peace and joy and satisfaction, the goal is God Himself, the rest are simply byproducts. Our goal should be the Lord; seeking after Him. We currently live in an age where we do not want Jesus to rule over us, we are a people who do not want to be told what to do. We will be held accountable for our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. We must live the truth, If we really trust God, we will obey Him. Our prayer for you is that you know Him not just know about Him. Who is the King? If we try to save our lives, we will loose them. But if we humble ourselves and yield ourselves to Him, we will find that He is life, health, and peace. Jesus is our peace, our salvation, our joy, He is our King. Who do you want to impress and please, the only thing that matters is what God thinks. Jesus is the King and we need to trust and obey Him.
