It is Required of a Steward that He Be Faithful

God is faithful to us, and so He requires of us
to be faithful stewards of what He has given us.
It is required of a steward that he be faithful.

What does it mean to be faithful?
"Being faithful means you did what you were appointed to do,
regardless of fanfare, doing it in season and out of season,
when men are watching, and when no one but God sees you
...doing exactly what your Master put you in place to do."

The faithful person...
Is faithful because it reflects the faithfulness of his Master.
Does not run away and hide when it gets hard,
but stays the course to the end.
Does not substitute his own will or own wisdom
for God's will or God's wisdom.
Is not measured or rewarded by the size of what has been given
but by his faithfulness to what has been given.
Lives to fulfill the agenda given to him by God,
not his own agenda.
Is faithful not because of the size of what is entrusted
but because of the God who entrusts it to him.
Does not rush to find something radical to do,
but is faithful to what God has called him to do.
Does not fret about being creative or innovative,
but strives to be faithful.
Like everyone else, will be judged by God
for his faithfulness on Judgment Day.
Focuses not on the next big thing,
but upon giving account at the end.
Runs his race and stewardship to the end, content
as a man, husband, father, or son,
as a woman, wife, mother, or daughter,
as a worker, student, young, or old,
as a pastor, deacon, member of the local church,
as his Master has called and placed him to be.
