God's Sovereign Election & Rejection

Romans 9 peels back the fabric of the universe and reveals the one, true, sovereign God that every man will stand before in judgment. There are multitudes of men and women around the globe that worship a being or beings of one sort or another as god. There are men and women sitting in churches that claim to be Christians and yet worship a god of their own making, a god of their imagination, a god that they have crafted according to their likes and dislikes. BUT, there is only one true God. Like Samuel with Agag, Romans 9 hacks to pieces our mild mannered, take-or-leave, ever understanding, never judging, ever hoping, pseudo-sovereign, free will respecting, false god! We are left with a simple question. Will we bend our knee before the one true sovereign God, or will we persist in idolatry? We don't hold to or preach Calvinism. We hold to and preach the Revelation of God, as John Calvin did before us.

Consider the words of Jonathan Edwards: 'From childhood up, my mind had been full of objections against the doctrine of God's sovereignty, in choosing whom he would to eternal life, and rejecting whom he pleased; leaving them eternally to perish, and be everlastingly tormented in hell. It used to appear like a horrible doctrine to me. But I remember the time very well, when I seemed to be convinced, and fully satisfied, as to this sovereignty of God, and his justice in thus eternally disposing of [dealing with] men, according to his sovereign pleasure.'
