The history of Israel wandering through the wilderness for 40 years was supposed to teach Israel their dependence upon the Lord.

Our experience of life is supposed to teach us the same thing. We are supposed to depend and walk in humility before the Lord. We are supposed to hold fast to him and demonstrate our love and faith for the Lord by the way that we live... the things we do and don't do.

If our religion doesn't affect the way was live, we haven't yet learned what we need to know.
