Memorial Service for Marjorie Ruth Jacobson
262 ( 151 | 111 )
Marjorie Jacobson's mother, Elsi McCormick, was Scotts-Irish and her father, Harold Broling, was Swedish. Throughout her 100 year life she cherished her godly heritage from both sides of her family. The prelude consists of hymns reflecting these two nationalities (noted by "S" and "I"). The hymns can be found on the indicated pages in the hymnal. The congregation is encouraged to reflect on the words of these hymns during the prelude. Londonderry Air, the tune of the opening Congregational song and How Great Thou Art, the closing hymn, also reflect this heritage.
Scripture read during the Praise and Worship portion of the service is from passages underlined in Marjorie Jacobson's Bible.
