Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

So often in it's history the church has been content to leave it's work unfinished, to only complete part of the task appointed to them. This is evident in the way that many churches resisted a thoroughgoing Reformation.

Israel was far too content not to finish the work of conquering the promised land that God had given them. Even though the Lord had promised he would go before them, we find in Joshua 15, that Israel instead of conquering became content to coexist. This compromise and slackness was to be their undoing.
