How Women Are to Learn

In chapter 2 Paul is zeroing in on the roles of men and women. The world lives in rebellion against our God and rejects his purposes and plans as the creator, because they reject him. But God requires that we as His people be living out his will in the world. The scripture is absolutely clear that God has a different purpose and design for a man and a woman. For 18 centuries there was universal agreement about the meaning of what Paul wrote here. Then about 50 years ago the modern feminist movement stormed on to the scene and shortly thereafter the church began finding new ways of interpreting passages relating to the role of women that would make it more acceptable to the thinking of the world. Paul wrote to the Romans and said do not be conformed to the world but be transformed.
