What Christians Do to the Holy Spirit! _08 John 16:12-15;Ephesians 4:30-32The Holy Spirit enriches our lives by producing certain fruit within us. (Gal 5:22-23). When we allow the Holy Spirit to fill, control, and dominate our life,then we will see this fruit produced in our lives. And as we experience the fruit of the Spirit, our lives will be enriched.The Holy Spirit also enriches us by developing us toward Christlikeness. When we become Christians, our old nature is not destroyed. Rather, we are given a new nature side by side with the old nature.So why is it that the Holy Spirit does not do in all of our lives what he wants to do? It is because of what we do to the Holy Spirit. We grieve the Holy Spirit with our many emotions and put out the fire of the Holy Spirit.We are also to be "tenderhearted." We are to be compassionate and sympathetic instead of angry, bitter and resentful.Are you causing the Holy Spirit pain or pleasure? Are you bringing Him grief or gladness? He is too needful to cause Him pain? He is too important in our life to grieve Him.
