When the Light Shines

John 9 continues the conflict that the Jewish leaders had with Jesus. Again, Jesus provokes this controversy by healing a man born blind. This miracle was also a sign, a work of God to bring glory to His great Name. In the miracle, Jesus proved His claim to be the Light of the world (8:12). It illustrates the fact that all are born blind spiritually. Jesus came that the spiritually blind might see and have their sins forgiven.
