Worship the King

99 ( 44 | 55 )

In this passage, we are looking at the obedience of the wise men. These wise men traveled approximately two years, and when they arrived, Jesus was a child, not a baby. The wise men had the right response toward Jesus, not to just visit Him but to worship Him. Likewise, we are to worship Him and want to worship Him. One of our responsibilities is to gather together to worship Jesus. When we read God's word, God is speaking, and He is talking to us about Jesus. The whole Bible points to Jesus. As believers in Jesus, we should be moved to worship Him. However, not everyone is excited or wants to worship our King. We don't only need to be forgiven for our sins; we need to be delivered from our sins. Our purpose in having our sins forgiven is so that we can draw close to God. God declared that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem. When God says that something will happen, it will happen, whether we participate or not. King Herod was the king of a small area and when the wise men were told that they must come back after they found Jesus; the wise men did not. The wise men obeyed the King of kings; they obeyed the Lord. The Bible is a treasure that we should cherish. The wise men did not give childish gifts to Jesus, and they did not worship Mary, the wise men gave costly gifts and worshiped Jesus. It is disobedient not to raise are our arms to Jesus like a little child seeking their parent's affection.
