A New Name

Angels are real and from the Old to the New Testament they have importance. However, angels are not equal to God and when some rebelled against God, they were banished from Heaven. When Jacob was going to meet his brother, even though he knew what God wanted him to do and was doing it, he was afraid. Jacob was pleading with God to save his life. God always keeps His promises. God is always is in control. Israel means, he wrestles with God, and this is what God changed Jacob’s name to. God was not too weak to overcome Jacob, but God deliberately placed Himself in a position where Jacob could win. In the same way, when God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ, He said no one takes My life, but I lay it down. Jesus had the strength to let man win so that He could rescue man. God is in control even when He gives us the ability to prevail. God rescues man by allowing man to prevail. God Wins.
