1Sam021 Lies, Lies, Lies
Series 1 Samuel
124
Every time David speaks in 1 Samuel 21, it seems like he is lying or deceiving. Sometimes, it can be unsettling to read about the great saints of Scripture engaging in immoral behavior and speech. A default position commonly encountered is that such behavior must be righteous because it is associated with great Biblical figures and is included within the record of Scripture. A careful analysis of Psalm 34, which David wrote not long after the events recorded in 1 Samuel 21, teaches that David has repented of the sins recorded in Samuel and teaches believers how to respond to difficult trials in a righteous way. This message examines what David did and then what David learned.
