When God is a Stranger in the Land

90

Jeremiah is troubled by God's apparent distance from the terrible events of famine and starvation that have overtaken Israel. In great distress he asks God "why shoulds thou be as a stranger in the land?"

  1. The circumstances that gave rise to the question.
  2. The divine response to his plea.
  3. The opposition that reinforces Jeremiah's plea.
  4. There is only one thing to do - pray. "Therefore we will wait upon him". He is able to deliver and save.
