The Wilderness Garden of Eden

Exodus 20 presents us with a revelation of God's character and desire for His people. God is speaking to the Israelites gathered at the foot of Mount Sinai. Exodus 19 articulates how God descended on the mountain in great power and glory, with thunder and lightning, fire, and smoke. Unlike the garden of Eden, God's people are forbidden to come closer, lest they die. This is a special occasion for God's people, and we must give it our full attention. As the Israelites are struck by the awesomeness of God's glory, the LORD makes full disclosure of His character when He speaks.
