- Obedience in reversing discipline v10. NT discipline to be medicinal in seeking the offender's restoration - it should reflect the truth of the gospel of grace and forgiveness.
- Satan's devices v11. We must not allow the truth of God's sovereignty to weaken our defences against the devices of Satan - his advantages occasioned by this instance - Satan's opposition to biblical discipline - A high and loving view of Christ necessary to our obedience.
