The Hour Has Come: Moving Toward The Cross

We can trust God to fully accomplish our salvation!
His timing: “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified” (20-23)
The Gentiles are now beginning to seek Him (20-22)
Jesus must now be glorified (23)
His design: Christ's death is a necessary pre-condition to new life (24-26)
Jesus must die before…
He can be glorified (24)
New life will multiply among the Gentiles (24b)
His means: Our “death” is a necessary pre-condition to true discipleship (25-26)
The disciple must “die” before…
He can have eternal life (25)
He can be honored by God as Jesus' servant (26)
Applications
Some tests of true discipleship!
John 12:25
Whoever loves his life loses it,
and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
