- The context:
The apostle exhorts the Corinthians that the question they should be asking concerned the evidences of grace in themselves rather than a proof of his own apostleship - they already had every reason to know that the apostles themselves were not reprobates.
Lessons:
- We are more ready to sit in judgment on others than to judge ourselves.
- A true believer may question whether he is in the faith.
- It is possible to know that we are in the faith.
- Members of the visible church are either in the faith or out of it.
- The marks of being in the faith.
