The Name of the Promise

Throughout all of recorded history there have only been 7 children whose names have been announced by God before they were born. These 7 names taken together give us a picture of the purpose and character of the promised Messiah. John is the penultimate name and his role as forerunner prepares the way for the conclusion of revelation. For the final name is Jesus and we find Him present in every promise.
