Nicodemus: Sovereign Grace and Spiritual Birth

Except a man be born from above, he is without ability to know the things of God, Jesus declared. Obviously, spiritual birth must precede spiritual perception, spiritual interest and spiritual power. One may be religious, as Nicodemus, but still not have spiritual power. This birth cannot be worked up or prayed down, it's a sovereign intervention of God.
