Simon Who Carried The Cross of Jesus

Matthew, mark, and Luke each record the fact thaqt a man named "Simon" carried the cross of Jesus. Not only so But Simon's family apparently had significant influence in the early New Testament church. His unplanned (from a human point of view) carrying of the cross began as an unexpected alarming horror. That is not how it ended. God is working all things after the counsel of His own will--though from appearances it does not seem to be so. Among the many things that could be said and applied from the texts considered in this sermon here are three summaries: 1. God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform. 2. Healthy Christians glory in the cross. 3. No one is led of the Spirit against his will.
