Effects of Coming to Christ

(1) They forsook their religion and followed Jesus—verse 37 (as a Christian, a Jew could not remain faithful to Judasim)

Christ became a man so he could die like a man, be related to man, and save man.
(2) They followed not knowing where they would go—verses 38-39

God saves and does not give a map as to what he or she will become. I remember a comment made by Eddie Mills after we had visited some young men in the barracks. He said, "I can't wait to see what God is going to use you for." Like many other comments at that time, I had no clue what that meant.
(3) They felt compelled to bring others to Him—verses 40-41.

I remember when both of our children got saved, each of them would ask about the soul condition of most every person that we would see.

John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
• John identifies Jesus.
• John magnifies Jesus.

• John took people as far as he could take them. Every teacher excels when they allow God to use them to speak to others and take them beyond their capabilities.
• When people hear preachers, they result should be that they follow Jesus.
• Each person should point to the one that has all the answers.
