The Lord's Declaration of Righteousness

All men are guilty before God because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Furthermore, man in has natural state cannot and will not come to Christ. God has chosen, or elected, some (but not all) to salvation in connection with the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ entered humanity to die and to complete the work by giving his life as a ransom for many (the elect). The elect are the called of God and look to the finished work of Christ for all of the justification they need, and not to their own works or decisions, because Christ did all of the obeying and God did all of the justifying.
