God Shows No Partiality in Judgment

506

Having the Mosaic Law, just like having a Bible, does not save anyone. Salvation comes by doing what God has said not merely by having it communicated, no matter what the form.

The Mosaic Law was given to Israel to govern all aspects of their life in the land God gave them. The Jews under the Law will be judged by its standards and found guilty. Gentiles, while never having been obligated to the Mosaic Law, will still be found guilty when they too come under God's judgment.

As Paul wrote to the Romans, he was making clear what God's judgment will be like. Judgment for Jew and Gentile will be on the basis of works, i.e. doing what God has said. For the Jews, that meant doing all that was commanded in the Mosaic Law. For the Gentiles, the issue becomes a matter of doing the law of God, written on the heart of man having been created in His image. Both Jew and Gentile alike rebel against the law of God whether specified in Mosaic Law or that which is written on the heart as a built in sense of God's morality.

There is no partiality with God and no distinction between sinners under His judgment. God will judge what was done and why, thoroughly and fairly through Jesus Christ. There will be no escape, no cover up, and no excuses.
