The Blessing of Sorrow

Embed
89

It is in the irony of Jesus' 2nd beattitude that we come face to face with the nature of the gospel. It is those who weep now who will be comforted, while those laughing now will be found weeping for all eternity. This mourning is merely an evidence of God's grace when a sinner is convicted of his "spiritual bankruptcy" admits his inability and cries out for mercy. Those who are christians know this godly sorrow and rejoice in the Lord for the gift of repentance operative in their lives. There truly is blessing in sorrow!
