Faith and Blessing

Faith in the Covenant God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob results in the blessing of God. In the O.T., a double inheritance was given to the firstborn, which in the case of Jacob's family fell to Joseph and his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh. This explains the eminence of these two tribes later in Israel's history. Those who know the blessing of God by experience will acknowledge it to their children and to their children's children. Although the ultimate fruition of God's full blessings may wait for some time, yet the eyes of faith are able to clearly see their certainty, because God, who cannot lie, has promised it.
