The Enemy Subdued

How is the narrative of Samuel judging Israel a picture of how Christ rules over His church? In what ways do believers enjoy the fruits of Christ's victory over His enemies and that of the church? How can we explain the fact that Christ reigns and yet He continues to subdue His enemies even though the victory is already won from the cross?
