House Churches: Are They Scriptural?

Many are fed up with compromise and apostasy in churches and denominations. As a reaction to this there has sprung up a plethora of 'house -churches', where in some cases the 'church' consists of a single family, meeting at home, with the head of the house conducting worship. Then, of course, there are those who prefer the loose affiliation provided by house churches and fellowships, where there is no real structure and visible oversight. What should believers think of these things? Here are some scripural observations...
