You Have to Be Holy

We seldom hear much in preaching these days about the importance of Christians becoming more holy, in fact some even teach that it is possible for Christians to be saved yet carnal and worldly. But far from teaching that holiness is optional for believers, there is a strong emphasis in the NT on the idea of God's people being holy as He is holy, a process which is called sanctification whereby they are conformed to the image of their savior Jesus Christ.

In this passage Peter tells us how Christians can become more Holy, how holiness is a sure mark of the true believer, and why it is critically necessary that they grow in holiness during the time of their pilgrimage here on earth.
