Righteousness and judgment

Deeply distressed and calling upon the faithful and righteous Lord, the psalmist seems struck with what it means for him to deal with God in his righteousness: "Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no one living is righteous." So here is a request, conscious of the fearful judgments of God, coming from a truehearted servant; here is a reason, conscious of the eye of the Lord upon the lives of men; and, there is a resolution, for—in Christ—God judges another for our sins, and provides a righteousness that is pleasing in his sight.
