The honour of God's name

God's great concern is the honour of his name. Because the people and the priests have no sense of God's love, their response is compromised.

Malachi describes the ugly reality of the situation, communicates God's painful rebukes, records the angry resentment of Israel, highlights God's awful rejection of their worship, describes the desired relationship that the Lord intended, and reminds us of the ultimate result - that the Lord will have his name honoured.
