The First Vision in Revelation

Reasons to study and preach on the book of Revelation:
It is a book we cannot do without – as it reveals how things end for this world, for the wicked and the Christian.
Yet, it is a book that is often neglected. Visions and symbols seem to steer us away.
It is the book about our final home. – Heaven, glory and the eternal state for believers in Christ is all revealed here. It is a vital part of God’s revelation to His church.
The book of Revelation is the last chapter of world history. We get a sneak peak of how this world, as we know it, will end.

It is God’s word. It is fully a part of the scriptures of truth that is inspired and preserved for our faith. (v1. Given b an angel to John – as ith Moses in Mt.Sinai. (Subject of SS this morning. – get notes).

It is about real events: See Ch. 1:1 “things which must shortly come to pass.”
This is not Disney – nor a fairy-tale land. This is where everyone who loves the Lord Jesus will spend all eternity.
