• Our Faith is Reassured in 4 Different testimonies that Bear Witness to the Truth and Authority that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God

I. By the Way Jesus Came (vs. 6)

A. By Water and Blood (v. 6a; Colossians 2:17; Hebrews 9:9-10, 13; Numbers 19:9; Titus 3:5; John 13:8; Hebrews 9:22) – the water being the word, or message of Christ (John 15:3; 17:17; Ephesians 5:26)

B. The Spirit of Truth Bears Witness that Jesus Came by Water and Blood (v. 6b; John 16:13-14; )

II. Three that Bear Witness in Heaven (v. 7) – Next week, Lord willing

III. Three that Bear Witness on Earth (v. 8)

IV. The Witness of God Within the True Believer (vs. 9-12)

V. The Purpose of the Apostle Writing These Things (v. 13)

Conclusion and Application

• The Testimony that Jesus Christ came by water and blood is Certain and Sure – by it we know that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God
• Call to Repentance of Your Sins and Faith in Him, Who came by Water and Blood
