I Spy

Aim: To grasp how God works with us in the world.

Exegesis: The church's espionage is God-directed. We are sent to the right place (v. 1a) and the right people (v. 1b). The devil's espionage is God-hating. It resists the invasion of good (v. 2) and truth (v. 3). The Spirit's espionage is God-honoring. God precedes us (v. 4a), protects us (vv. 4b-5), provides for us (v. 6) and prospers us (v. 7).
