Understanding Prophecy (Rev 6-7:4)
Introduction: Review
Revelation was written when Christians were entering a time of persecution. Since Roman authorities at this time were beginning to enforce the cult of emperor worship, Christians -- who held that Christ, not Caesar, was their Lord--were facing increased hostility.

The Purpose of the Book
Rev 1:1, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants -- things which must shortly take place" (see 1:3, 22:10,16).

Exposition: "These things must come to pass first"
