Controversy, Chaos, & Christ

If you want to draw intense criticism from within the American church in 2021, just challenge the evangelical status quo. But this shouldn't surprise us because Jesus faced his greatest controversy and criticism from within his own religious community – even from his own family down in verse 21 who said he was out of his mind. If only Jesus had kept silent about all his crazy beliefs like being able to forgive sin or being Lord over the Sabbath, and just stayed in sync with Rabbinic status-quo, there would have been no controversy, but Jesus who is the truth, could only speak the truth, and friends, so must we.
