Covering Up the Cover Up

We can't cover it...

When we coverup sin, we can rest assured, God will uncover it publicly... if we uncover it, and give it to Him, most often, He will show mercy and cover it up publicly. (2 Samuel 11/12)

Covering Up the Cover Up

The Bible describes SIN as these four ways: as trespass/transgressions, iniquity, guile and sin.

What we did when we sinned! We crossed a known boundary line when we trespass.

Why we did it! We crossed it because of the iniquity/wickedness within us that motivated our rebellion.

How we did it! We did deceptively or with guile to hide what we did when we trespassed so we wouldn't be caught or thought of differently by others.

What we didn't do! When we trespassed we sinned/missed the perfect mark of God and, therefore, we didn't glorifying Him in our actions or attitude toward the offense.

What can we do with it! Repent... trust God with it and turn it over to Him. Repentance hits God's mark and brings Him glory!

When we don't repent, we continue to add sin to sin!

"He who covers his sins will not be successful at it, but he who confesses and forsakes his sin will have mercy" (Proverbs 28:13).

God has ONLY one answer for sin... and no one can adequately or successfully do what ONLY the blood of Jesus can do for sin. And when one turns to the Lord, in faith, as they turn away from that which snared them, acknowledging the sin, as sin, seeing it the way God sees it, by faith, God covers the missed mark with His mercy and satisfies His own justice through the blood of Jesus.

But we don't have to let our mess ups, or mess ups of others, keep messing us up...His mercies are fresh every morning. Glory...
