Under Whose Shade? Part Two
Series Bitter Fruit
As we reflect on God and evil, we are confronted with certain clear differences between the Bible and Islam. Those differences are highlighted in the last part of the first paragraph of the third chapter of The Westminster Confession of Faith.
The first part affirms that God is absolutely sovereign, a truth that Muslims affirm.
But that paragraph goes on to affirm that the human will is never coerced by God and that second causes must take place in order for God's will to be done. These biblical truths are rejected in Islam.
"God, from all eternity, did, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own will, freely, and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass: yet so, as thereby neither is God the author of sin, nor is violence offered to the will of the creatures; nor is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established."
