Our Father's Faithful Chastening
Series Studies in Hebrews
55
The apostle here builds on the introduction to this chapter found in verses 1-4. He argues from the peculiar and gracious nature of the believer's sufferings; trials that befall all the people of God at particular places in their lives and pilgrimage. Our enemies and persecutors may be instruments of suffering and hardships that occur repeatedly in our travels through life, but never forget that they function with God's allowance, and as a part of His will.
