For Encouragement and Courage

But even when physical death doesn’t threaten us; the decay and dullness of death hounds the spirits of the missionary in other ways. There is the constant struggle against the complexities of a thorny and fallen world while working among broken people. All the enemy must do is whisper in the ear of someone close to you a suggestion of doubt or defiance and now whole issues of ministry become complicated. Moreover, the enemy would want to render us in our times of discouragement, fruitless in the labor before us. There is a need to plow through. How should we then pray? Lord how may we be used of you to encourage them? Lord we are not there to lift them up. Lord bring yourself before them as an ever-present help in the time of need. Again there is a need to remember the mission and to boldly pursue it against resistance and question. Joel's final quote from "Ambassadors For Christ" is worth listening to.
