The Offering of Isaac

Abraham's faith was illustrious, honoring God as the Holy Spirit recorded it. It was evidently to set forth the offering of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Mediator of God's chosen and elect people. Here God appoints Abraham to be His servant and challenges him to offer Isaac the beloved son up to the Lord. From the first sacrifice all the way to the cross God has taught that without the shedding of blood there is no cleansing flood and no forgiveness of iniquity.
