#21 Joshua's Inheritance

The biblical view of faith is simply this: God has spoken. The challenge of world faith is "what suits me." It is focused on self. The challenge of biblical faith is "what did God say/promise". It is focused on the Bible. When you get the promises of God wrong, your faith goes astray. Theology, the study of God's word, makes a difference. If you get God's promises wrong, your faith will depart from the truth. People will accuse God of breaking His promise because; 1)they didn't allow God to reward according to His own timeframe; and 2) they didn't allow God to reward according to His own standard. Pride and presumption distort our vision. If you get God's promises wrong, your faith will suffer. But if you get God's promises right, you get them rightly defined and rightly applied, your faith will be strengthened.
