Two Failures

We see the failures of two men in this passage. We are compelled to face the distasteful truth that we too can also fail in these very same ways.
1-Ahimaaz failed to courageously deliver the message that he was obligated to deliver. It doesn't matter how fast we run in our ministries and programs if we don't have the courage to proclaim the message people most need to hear--the message of sin, judgment, and repentance.
2-David failed to live up to his calling. He allowed his own feelings over the death of Absalom to override his calling and responsibilities as God's anointed king over His people. We too can fail in our service to God by allowing our feelings to override our responsibilities to God.
