One of the real elements of godly contentment is thankfulness. Paul was able to be thankful, even in prison. Paul wanted to explain to the Philippians the importance of giving. God's grace changes people from takers to givers. Paul could rejoice in the giving of the Philippians because it showed their great love for God and for him.
