The Dual Return Rapture Hoax

[PDF edited 10/2015]. In Part 4 of this series we refute the most popular of Scofield’s heresies, & the key that enabled his others. To teach that unbelieving Jews are still God’s chosen people having a separate covenant with God, Scofield needed a mechanism to remove the church from the earth so God could return to dealing with Israel as His “other” chosen people. That mechanism is the pre-tribulation rapture of the Church; however such an event is NOT found in the Bible.

Just as Scofield taught there are two separate peoples and two separate kingdoms of God, when the Bible says there’s only one of each, so also Scofield popularized this concocted event that relies on two separate Returns of our Lord; first returning for His church, and later to Nat. Israel, when the Bible says there is only ONE return of Christ, “AFTER the tribulation of those days.”

All scriptures dealing with the TIMING of the rapture show it to occur AFTER the great tribulation, particularly Matt. 24, 1 Cor. 15, 2 Thes. 2 and Rev. 20. Not only is the pre-trib rapture doctrine in direct conflict with these scriptures, but there is no passage of scripture ANYWHERE in the Bible teaching that the Rapture must precede the Tribulation. The danger of the Pre-trib doctrine is that it has produced a generation Christians that are totally unprepared for days ahead, who believe they can ignore the warnings of the book of Revelation, and who see no reason to separate themselves from the rising "beast" system of Revelation 13, wrongly believing these events will not apply to them.
