Colossians 3:15 - Let the Peace of Christ Rule in Your Hearts

In Colossians 3:15, Paul gives the first of three exhortations at the close of his instructions on how to live the resurrection life of Christ in the body. He exhorts us to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts.

Mankind exchanged peace--peace with God, peace with others, peace with self--for enmity because of sin. The Prince of Peace came to reconcile His people and restore this peace through the cross.

Now, those who are in Christ and have Christ in them, also have the peace of Christ in them. And this peace of Christ is to be an arbiter which governs the soul. Yet this peace in verse 15 is primarily to be applied in the local body of Christ, to rule and regulate unity within the church.
